The line between fine art and craft is often unfairly drawn where traditional women's work is done. Case in point: quilting.
With this project, completed at the Franz Masareel Zentrum printmaking residency, I etched - traditionally men's labor - panels reminiscent of quilts - traditionally women's labor. The discussion about gendered expectations, social norms, and what is art is something that still needs to be had.
